Fidelio – The Restaurant of Emotions in Alberobello
L. V. Beethoven’s Fidelio overture, a symbol of love and sacrifice, together with Stanley Kubrick’s final film Eyes Wide Shut, served as the inspiration behind Fidelio, a restaurant nestled in the ancestral Villa Agrusti — a residence dating back to the mid-19th century. Its austere elegance is captured by the Latin inscription from Ludovico Ariosto, “Parva sed apta mihi” – “Small, but suited to me” – which has adorned the ancient portico since 1848.
In the late 1940s, this noble villa was home to an agricultural technical school. The writings left by its students, still visible on the walls of the old cellars, bear witness to that era.
Courtesy, beauty, quality, and style — for over twenty years, this has been the essence of Fidelio: the heartfelt project of Paola and Francesco, partners in life and work.
A gathering place, not just a restaurant, but a true ritual.
The cuisine honors simplicity, using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. The menu is completed by a selection of grilled local meats, artisanal dairy products, homemade bread, and carefully chosen wines.
Paola and Francesco welcome you into their world — one of taste, elegance, attention to detail, and love for nature.
Enjoy your meal at Fidelio, the restaurant of emotions.
